Abba,

What a beautiful thing to know that our hoping and waiting is not in vain because it is hoping and waiting done in you. You hold the keys to eternal life, but that is not only the reason we hope and wait in you. It is because in this fallen world, You remain our Savior.

In the hills and valleys of life, you remain our Shepherd and deliverer. In our fears and doubts you remain our firm foundation. In our sorrows and pains you remain our comforter and healer. You have never left us. You have been true to Your promises. You have never failed us.

As we pray for breakthroughs, help us brace through moments of You breaking through us. Break us so we can be in touch with our own brokenness and humbly recognize that our past victories won't let us win today. Only Jesus will help us win today, tomorrow and always.

On Your Word, we can rely. In You there is hope and victory is sure. May we always remember that Your ways always involve plentiful waiting. Because You are not only after all the breakthroughs, You're after moments of breaking throughs so You can come into our hearts—which have been in siege for ages! And one by one You will conquer the kingdoms we've built within. And You will be King!

Sin You will render powerless. Pride You will pronounce guilty. Self-righteousness You will trample down. Fear You will wash in perfect love. You will name our weaknesses one by one and each You will replace with strength—strength that comes only from the true Messiah. Our hearts You will clothe in righteousness and a banner of holiness You will raise.

You will never allow our hearts to be under siege again. You will reign.
